ACT’s StoryWalk® at the Foss Forest!
A StoryWalk® is great for kids of all ages!
Get your kiddos engaged in the outdoors in a different way, or take yourself for a nice stroll in the woods and follow along for a short, pleasant walk.
The StoryWalk® is on the Foss Path in ACT’s Foss Forest. The trail is located just beyond the parking lot on Pearl Lake Rd. As you walk past the big rocks, look to your left, and the trail is right there!
The books will change regularly, though freezing temps will keep us from switching books until spring. We hope you’ll make the walk part of your family’s regular outdoor time and get to know the trail well to see it change through the seasons.
In case you can’t get enough of the story, all books featured are available at the Abbie Greenleaf Library in Franconia.
ACT volunteers and Adaptive Sports Partners of the North Country volunteers worked hard to install the posts and page holders over a hot weekend in June 2021 - thank you to all who were able to help!
Finally, we are so thankful to our partners, the Gale River Cooperate Preschool, Abbie Greenleaf Library, and sponsor Becky Hatfield, for helping us get ACT’s very first StoryWalk® organized and installed. Thanks also to our members and supporters who make all this work possible.
The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT, and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. StoryWalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson.
