Learn how to build trails - all experience levels welcome!
What to expect: This event is open for all – no experience required – come try trail work! Help us break ground on the orange trail at Gale Family Forest in Lyman New Hampshire.
ACT’s Trails Manager will be on site to give instruction – volunteers will be able to work at their own pace on varying tasks. You can expect clearing trees and debris from the trail corridor and moving rocks and dirt to establish a treadway. Volunteers should expect to get dirty so wear workwear and closed-toed boots that you don’t mind getting muddy. The trail will be relatively flat and easy to walk. Volunteers will be carrying tools as well as their personal items, so backpacks are recommended. Work will continue as scheduled in light rain, any storms or a lot of rain will be rescheduled for Sunday, June 8th. People can stay for as long as they’d like and can leave at any time.
Parking: You can park in the access lot on Gannon Road (https://maps.app.goo.gl/qQX9GgExPaqx2sAu6?g_st=ic) and parallel along Gannon Rd once the lot fills up. If you would like to carpool, please meet at the Moore Reservoir Pine Island Launch at 8:45 and will carpool to the trailhead at 9:00 as parking is limited.
