ACT is Offering Conservation Options for Landowners in Coös County

Development pressure in the North Country has intensified and landowners wishing to conserve undeveloped land have experienced frustration in finding options for their smaller parcels in this rural and expansive geography.

ACT listened, talked with community leaders, listened, talked some more, and five years later here we are! We are able to offer landowners in Grafton and Coös Counties options, including conservation easements and land donations, all with the landowners’ visions of permitted activities on their farmland and/or forestland properties protected into the future.

We have committed time and energy to raising grant funds to hire staff dedicated to working on conservation in Coös to save those lands which Coös residents have indicated are important to them to leave protected for their grandchildren and beyond. We have also raised dedicated funds to help cover project costs for those landowners who need extra support.

A number of residents have agreed to serve on our committees and as land steward volunteers to ensure the voices of Coös are heard!

Coös residents looking to conserve their land legacies in the Great North Woods have already begun speaking with ACT. Please contact us with your questions, land protection projects, and ideas. We are excited, committed, and ready to help!
