Happy new year! join act for some new and exciting programming in the coming year kicking-off the fun in Bethlehem this month.
We are so excited to finally roll out our January events, we’ve got all kinds of fun up our sleeve for your this year. Join us for any (or all?) of our events this month to get outside, test your nature knowledge, and learn about stone walls! Join us at The Rocks and Rek’-lis for our winter 2020 ‘Shoes & Brews kick-off and to raise a glass to the new year. Sharpen your pencils, gather a team and test your knowledge of the outdoors at ACT’s first “Wild Thing” Nature Trivia night at Rek’-lis Brewing. Finally, our last Friday speaker series returns with a very special guest, Kevin Gardner, who will help us uncover some of the stories and history behind New England’s stone walls.

ACT is kicking off 2020’s winter ‘Shoes & Brews series on Saturday, January 11 from 2:00 to 5:30 p.m. in Bethlehem! We’ll start with a very special hiking tour at The Rocks (owned by the Society for the Protection of NH Forests) on a trail not usually open to the public and then head up the hill for snacks, a warm up and to raise a glass to the new year at Rek’-Lis Brewing.
Registration for the ‘Shoes at the Rocks is required and is strictly limited to 15 participants, so please be sure to register ASAP as the hike will fill up quickly. Looking for more info? Click here! Ready to register? You can click here or call the office at (603) 823-7777.
Once registered, you will receive a confirmation e-mail. Details of the meeting location will come the day before the event. Registration closes at noon on Friday, January 10th.
Sharpen your pencils and get your team together to join us for ACT's very first nature trivia night! On Thursday, Jan. 23 from 7 – 9 p.m. at Rek'-lis Brewing we’ll be looking for all our nature nerds to come get wild!
Test your knowledge of the outdoors, get some belly laughs, eat and drink at one of our favorite spots and win cash all while supporting conservation and community in the North Country!
Bonus for anyone showing their love early! Pre-register with a donation by Thursday (01/23) at noon and get an order of chips and salsa and one beer FOR FREE (high ABV not included) generously offered by the fine folks at Rek’-lis. Registration is not required but is very much appreciated so organizers can plan accordingly.

Stone Walls of New England with Kevin Gardner

Bethlehem Elementary School, Bethlehem, NH
Join us at the Bethlehem Elementary School to discover the wondrous world of New England’s stone walls. Our special guest speaker, writer, teacher, and tradesman, Kevin Gardner, is the author of The Granite Kiss and will explain how and why New England came to acquire its thousands of miles of stone walls. We’ll also learn about the different ways in which the walls were built, how their styles emerged and changed over time and their significance to the famous New England landscape.
Registration is requested to help organizers plan accordingly but not required. And all who pre-register will be entered to win an exciting door prize!
