Join ACT's new Outreach Coordinator, Jake Acito, on a guided walk through the Lawrence Forest in Franconia to learn more about snow science! We will be taking a look at snow trends in New Hampshire and what it means for the state from economic, recreational, and environmental perspectives.
The Lawrence Forest in Franconia has it all: streams, wetlands, floodplains, young and more mature forest, and views, all accessible from foot trails. The conservation commission had long been interested in the property for its excellent recreational potential – there are mountain bike/walk/ski paths there, and the land is close to or adjacent to other town-owned properties including Fox Hill.
The walk will be roughly 1.5 miles and will only gain about 50 feet in elevation; we will stop at a few areas including by Meadow Brook for discussion.
