ACT's Speaker Series: What is THAT?! Fungi Diversity in NH's White Mtns

Our Fantastic Fungi event with the Colonial Theatre made us realize that mushrooms are a hot topic and so we're excited to bring it back this month!

Connect from the comfort of your couch on Thursday, October 22nd at 6 pm to learn and discover the wonderful world of mushrooms with Dr. Tommy Stoughton. Tommy is an evolutionary biologist, professor at Plymouth State University since 2016 and man behind Mad Professors Mushrooms in Plymouth, NH where he forages for wild mushrooms and leads foraging trips.

We’ll start with an introduction to and see examples of macro fungi in our area including both common and more rare species as well as some fungal lookalikes you might spot as you wander in the woods. Tommy will then dive into the importance of citizen scientists and talk about how you can get involved in the discovery process in our region. There is so much still to be learned!

This free online presentation begins promptly at 6 pm; please register to get the link with log-in information.
