Spring Ephemerals Walk at Wallace Farm

Calling all those interested in the natural wonders of "spring ephemerals"!  If you and your family would love to walk in beautiful woods and discover the riches of spring beneath your feet, this is for you. Join ACT and the property owners for a tour of a rich and diverse woodland at a historic farm in the upper Connecticut River Valley. Witness the delicate colors and fragility of rare plants and learn about the bedrock and soils that help create this rich mesic forest. We hope to find squirrel corn, maidenhair fern, blue cohosh, dutchman's breeches, trout lilies, spring beauty, dwarf ginseng, red elderberry and others.

Participants should be ready to walk about a mile on woodlands trails, some of which are steep! Please come prepared with comfortable hiking shoes, and dress for the weather. Rain or shine.

Space is limited so please register to secure your spot.

The workshop and light refreshments are provided by our hosts at no charge.  Feel free to pack a lunch.

Although there is no charge for this workshop, donations to support the Ammonoosuc Conservation Trust are always appreciated and will be accepted at the walk.
